Twyford Circular, 12 Sep

Published by Morley Ramblers on

Train : Paddington 9.17, Arrive Twyford 10.03. Please note that the arrival station is Twyford, not Shiplake as stated in the programme.

NB if you take an Elizabeth Line train (that I assume would then be free for Freedom Pass holders) you should aim to arrive at Twyford by 10.03 . Meet at main entrance at Platform 4. The walk leaders will meet you at the station.

Toilets: There are toilets at Twyford Station and the next ones are not until the pub at lunch time.

Lunch: At Hurst, either a picnic in the churchyard or community garden or pub lunch at the Castle Inn.

The Walk: Approximately 8 miles, there are no drop out points by public transport.  The route is mainly flat across fields, a country park, along the River Loddon and there is also some road walking. There are 4 stiles, all in the morning. Following this week’s rain there could be mud in places.

Hazards: We have to walk along two sections of narrow winding roads with some blind bends and no pavements for a short distance. It is imperative to keep well in to the side in single file as the traffic tends to move fast.

Leaders: Linda and Chris
