Not the Farnham Circular

Published by Morley Ramblers on

19 July. Seven Morley Ramblers set out with good intentions to do a robust walk through Farnham Woods in less than promising weather. Sadly, a total signalling breakdown at Waterloo meant we were going nowhere by train.  Two walkers were stuck in Surbiton, and one London based walker went to do the grocery shopping.

The four remaining London based walkers decided to do a riverside hike but first we explored an exhibition at Waterloo commemorating 200 years of rail travel. The intrepid four looked first at a sculpture show in the lovely garden of St John’s at Waterloo.

By which time it was extremely wet as the picture from Ginny shows. Three of us made it to the Tate Modern, Sue and Janet went to a stunning show by the Aboriginal Artist Emily Kam Kngwarray and Dave explored the Turbine Hall. Better luck next time and thanks to all who made the attempt. Sue C.
