Crystal Palace to Nunhead, 15 Feb

The length is less than previously advertised, more like 7 miles. I hope to start the walk at 10.45. There’s a café at Crystal Palace station. 

The train times in the programme have changed. From London Bridge the 9.44 arrives at 10.19. Or there’s a 10.10, arriving 10.37, but needing  a change at Norwood Junction. From London Victoria there’s a direct train leaving 10.16, arriving 10.43 calling at Clapham Junction and Balham.

For lunch, at Horniman Museum, the café is quite good though there was a 30 minute queue the last time I was there. There’s a also kiosk serving hot drinks and an enclosed space where one can have one’s picnic.

The walk: I expect walking time to be about 1.5 hours in the morning and 2 hrs in the afternoon. The route is mostly paths so fairly mud free. There are one or two steepish sections.
