The Walk: 10 Miles

A ramble along the Wandle trail encompassing both sources at Beddington and Carshalton and ending at Earlsfield.

Mainly shady. Not much mud at present. Flat.

Drop out points

Carshalton ( train back to London)

Morden  ( Northern Line and buses) 

Colliers Wood ( buses and Northern Line

Food

 We will stop for coffee at St Mary’s Church Beddington. A fascinating building encompassing all the features in my “Ladybird Book of Churches” from the Roman sarcophagus to the 20th century font by IKEA!

Lunch at The Sun, Carshalton. Let me know by Thursday evening if you want to eat at the pub so I can book a table.

Tea   We will stop for tea at the either The Stables cafe or the National Trust cafe in Morden Hall park depending on our progress. 

Transport

Victoria 9.30, Clapham Junction  9.39  arr Waddon 10.06
Return from Earlsfield  
 Frequent trains to Clapham Junction  and half hourly to Hampton Court, Chessington etc. All in freedom pass zone
