Oxford Circular, 13 April

Published by Morley Ramblers on

Train 09.22 Paddington, arrives 10.16 Oxford.

This easy circular walk takes us from the station, then follows the Thames Path overlooking a now sodden Port Meadow to the village of Wolvercote, where we stop for lunch at the Plough Inn. (A frequent bus service links the village to Oxford.) In the afternoon, we keep to the Oxford Canal towpath towards the outskirts of the city. Because of the inundation of the towpath near Wolfson College (our usual route), I suggest we leave the path at Bridge 240 and either take a bus or walk into town. The shortened version of the walk is around 6-7 miles. This will leave people a little more time to explore Oxford e.g. Pitt Rivers Museum, the Ashmolean (where we normally have tea) etc.

Can members please let me know by Thursday evening, if you want pub lunch. There are seats outside. Thanks. Sally
