Hammersmith to Putney Bridge, 9 Dec

Published by Morley Ramblers on

Due to the ongoing problems with the trains (overtime ban leading to cancellations) and the difficulty of returning from West Byfleet Station by any other means – I am swapping the planned walk for this Saturday with the one originally planned for 20 January from Hammersmith to Putney Bridge.

The walk which is approximately 7 miles, will start from Hammersmith Station (District & Piccadilly Lines) – meeting at 10.30am by the flower stall (inside the station) next to the ticket machines.

Lunch will be in Barnes village – I have booked a table for 6 at The Sun Inn for 12 noon – please let me know if you wish to eat there. Otherwise, there are places to picnic by the pond which is opposite the pub.  For more information please check the website: www.suninnbarnes.co.uk

There are options for dropping out in Barnes and also at Hammersmith Bridge on the opposite side of the river. We will finish the walk at Putney Bridge, where we can enjoy tea/coffee/cakes in St. Mary’s Church or nearby Fulham Palace.  From there it is possible to walk back to Hammersmith (past Fulham Football Club – they are playing on Sunday!) along the other side of the River Thames or travel home from Putney Bridge Station (on the District Line) or via one of several buses which stop on Putney Bridge.

Please let me know if you have any questions – I look forward to seeing you on Saturday. (Non-members contact walks@morleyramblers.uk) Daphne
