Holmwood to Box Hill, 7 October

Published by Morley Ramblers on

This walk is c. 10 miles in length but the half way lunchtime spot – The Wotton Hatch pub – provides a break out point and buses leave from there hourly (two minutes past the hour) to Dorking station – about 17 minutes ride.

The walk starts with a climb up to Coldharbour Village (not quite up to Leith Hill) then down through woods to Wotton. After lunch we aim for Ranmore, via the North Downs Way, and then skirt the vineyards of Denbies to reach Boxhill station.

Lunch. After lunch, there are no food outlets, so please bring refreshments if not eating in the pub. And let me know in advance (pref by Friday) if you want to eat lunch at the pub. (Non members contact walks@morleyramblers.uk)

Trains leave from Victoria at 9.41, Clapham 9.48 (prob platform 15/ final destination Horsham) and arr at Holmwood (just past Dorking) at 09.41. Buy a return to Holmwood. There are two trains an hour returning to London from Boxhill. Buy a return ticket to Holmwood.
