Change of programme, 26 August

Published by Morley Ramblers on

The walk on our orogramme for Saturday 26 August is postponed to another date due to the rail strike.

Our walk will be from WOOD GREEN to STOKE NEWINGTON, up to 11 miles

Meet outside Wood Green Tube station, Picadilly Line at 10.30.

Alternatively, those travelling by bus W6 or other transport can meet on the front terrace of Alexandra Palace at approximately 11am. (Trains might be available to Alexandra Park station, check on the day)

Please contact Tony Atkins if you plan to join the walk at any point other than the start.

The walk from Alexandra Palace, is through Highgate and Queens Woods to reach Highgate Station. We will then follow the link to Finsbury Park for a planned lunch stop at the park cafe, around 1pm.

The afternoon walk will continue as far as the group wish towards Stoke Newington, via Woodberry Wetlands, Clissold Park and Abney Park Cemetary.

The whole walk will be more than 10 miles, but there are regular drop out points by bus and tube or overground and potential cafe stops.

There are some ups and downs but no serious climbs. There are potential muddy areas on the route, but not much pavement walking. Good walking shoes should suffice.
