Richmond to Hampton Court, 13 May

Published by Morley Ramblers on

Due to the planned rail strike on Friday 12 May, we have had to defer the Gomshall to Shere walk yet again until the summer.

The walk is now Richmond to Hampton Court

The walk will start from Richmond Station at 10am. We will be crossing the river at Richmond Bridge and heading for coffee at the Stables Cafe next to the Old Orleans Gallery in Twickenham. From there we will walk along the river and into the town, where we will catch a bus for a short journey to Teddington Lock. We will cross the river here and head for lunch in Kingston upon Thames. In the afternoon we will cross the river again and head for Home Park which will take us to Hampton Court.

Distance – approximately 8 miles; there are no hills or stiles to negotiate and hopefully there will be less mud than in previous weeks!

Travel

The trains may be running and the District Line and Overground should be available.

On the return If the station is open and trains are running, it will be possible to travel back from Hampton Court to central London. If not, then the R68 bus goes directly to Richmond.

Food

Lunch – at The Bishop in Residence, a riverside pub in Kingston (please let me know if you would like to eat there by Thursday); alternatively, you an picnic in a small seating area on the other side of Kingston Bridge.

Coffee at The Stables as above

Look forward to seeing you on Saturday at 10.00
