My prayers were answered for a near perfect country walk on Saturday 12th March, 2022.  Despite having to negotiate the use of a rail replacement bus service (which was delayed in both directions), fifteen Morley walkers managed to get to Epsom Downs.

Downland sun
Downland mud!

On a bright, sunny morning after leaving the golf course we were rewarded with the sight of 3 race horses being exercised near the grandstand. There was quite a lot of mud, due to heavy rain during Friday, however the views were excellent and we could even see the Wembley Stadium arch in the distance. Everyone enjoyed lunch in the Fox & Hounds pub in Walton-on-the-Hill and the sun was still shining in the afternoon, as we headed down the slippery chalk escarpment. We crossed the Epsom Race Course on the opposite side (with more fine views) on the way back to the station
