Return trains to London direct from Brockenhurst run every half hour at 14 and 44 minutes past the hour. Loos on the train and at Brockenhurst station.

 The Walk – 11 miles

A mostly shady walk on wide, shared paths through the New Forest with dappled shade. There is one stretch of open heathland of about 1 km near the start of the walk. Some walking on quiet country lanes and half a km along a main road with a  pavement after lunch. No stiles.

Morning and afternoon about equal length. Forecast is between 24 and 26 degrees. Needless to say, no rain. Please bring plenty of water.

Drop out is possible after lunch using the hourly bus service  no 86 Southampton to Lymington. Buses leave the fire station at Lyndhurst at 10 minutes past the hour and 11 minutes past from Goose Green. We pass the Goose Green bus stop on the return walk to Brockenhurst.

Lunch/refreshments

Lunch at Lyndhurst. There are several pubs and cafes. Or picnic in the churchyard.

Tea shop or pub in Brockenhurst after the walk.
