Berkhamsted to Tring, 11 Jul

Travel: 9.38 Euston to Berkhamsted. Meet 10.15. Buy return to Tring, edge of travel zone is Harrow and Wealdstone.

Toilets on train.

Lunch: Aldbury. Cafe or picnic. Pub and shop also available.

The walk is about 10 miles, longer in the morning. After about a mile a short sharp climb reaches the Ashridge Estate where there is shade available until lunchtime. There is a steep downhill before lunch where poles would be advised if wet. There would also be muddy areas in wet conditions. There is limited shade in the afternoon and If the weather is very hot we will agree a shorter return to Tring. There is a very limited bus service for those needing to drop out at lunchtime.
