Falconwood circular
27 June. Too hot for our planned travel and walk to Polesden Lacey.
The trip to Falconwood was an easy one for those living close to the stations, and a short walk to reach the relative cool of the nearby woods.

A mile or so took the five of us to the cafe in Oxlease Wood to enjoy a drink or ice cream with extensive views Southwards.
We agreed a further detour into Jack’s Wood. The gardens warrant a longer visit in cooler times. As does Severndroog Castle which we reached for a further break before retracing our steps and returning through the woods.

The pub at Falconwood station is part of the Harvester chain. We all had to be reminded how to order, but we’re very grateful for being seated in the air conditioned area.
We agreed probably cooler than being at home, and some great views as well as the company.
