Wrabness to Manningtree, 2 May

Published by Morley Ramblers on

Travel: We will meet at Liverpool Street Station and take the 10:00 Norwich train.  We will change at Manningtree and take the 11:00 Harwich Town train to Wrabness arriving at 11:09.

The Walk: The walk is close to the estuary of the River Stour.  There are no hills or stiles.  There is a part where walkers need to be careful.  A short twisting section of country lane without any pavement.

Lunch: We will stop at Bradfield for lunch.  The former village pub is now Chapters, a coffee shop/wine bar.  It sells baguettes, bagels, soup, etc. but no cooked meals.  Those members wishing to take a packed lunch can eat it in the churchyard opposite Chapters.  Although the number of seats there is limited.

Drop Out Points: Walkers wishing to drop out lunchtime, after four miles, can take a 103 or 104 bus to the centre of Manningtree.  They depart at 12:48, 13:33 and 14:18.  Walkers wishing to drop out after six miles can catch a train from Mistley Station which is very close to our route.  Trains run hourly at 43 minutes past the hour.
