Hayes Circular
28 February. 15 members took the regular if slow train to the edge of the travel zone to meet up with our local resident and longstanding group member to walk on the three commons near Hayes Station.
The weather was cool but mostly dry and the woodland paths fairly firm underfoot. The only issue on this outing is the number of roads crossing the commons, some of them busy. They were safely negotiated to reach a drink stop at the Greyhound pub in Keston.

The second third of the walk is a loop of Keston common and the Ravensbourne Nature area. A rest by Keston ponds is always pleasant. In past outings it has provided a site for a picnic lunch, but today we continued back to the pub for food and drink.
Two of the group were directed to the London Loop route in advance of the rest. This path was chosen for the return across West Wycombe Common, with less road crossing and the easiest way home for our local member.
A relatively short ramble, enjoyed by all.
