Woolwich to Greenwich
6 December. Eleven of us started the walk in Woolwich, enjoying better weather than expected. Walking gently along the Thames Path we were treated to a mixture of modern architecture and old factories and other remnants of industrial London as well as the odd sculpture.

We slowed down along the old Faraday (Siemens) factory, learning about its role in laying the first telegram cable between the Uk and the USA. The Thames Flood barrier shined as always and the Thames slowly rose as the day went along so that in the afternoon the path was sometimes slightly flooded.

Lunch was a stop around the O2, where we were treated to a Xmas concert from the West End Choir. Then seven of us ended up in Greenwich, finishing early. We all enjoyed it, the dark to light sky colours were very appropriate to the setting and made the walk even more spectacular.
