Guildford, Figure of Eight, 22 Nov

A walk of two halves centred on Guildford, with option of just doing the morning. From the station we head up past the castle to Pewley Down, returning via Shalford and the river Wey. In the afternoon our route takes us up to the cathedral, returning via the cemetery where Lewis Carroll is buried.

Train: Meet Waterloo Station. Buy OPDR to Guildford.  Due to engineering works, there are no trains via Woking, the usual route. Our train leaves at 09.39, stopping at Clapham Junction 09.48, Surbiton 09.58 arriving Guildford at 10.24.

Lunch in Guildford, big choice of cafes and pubs, walkers to make their own arrangements.
