Gomshall to Shere, 16 Aug

TRAIN: London Waterloo – 0900, Guildford – 0932 (5 minutes to change trains!) Guildford – 0937, Gomshall – 0952. Buy a return ticket to Gomshall – from Zone 6 for Freedom Pass holders
THE WALK: Ten miles. This is a varied walk offering fabulous views of the beautiful Surrey Hills and taking in three pretty villages: Abinger Hammer, Peaslake and Shere. There is a mix of farmland, wild meadows and woodland with some steep sections, where walking poles will be useful.
NB. No dropout points but there is the possibility of taking a taxi from Peaslake back to Gomshall station.
LUNCH: At Hurtwood outdoor centre which has a new cafe serving paninis, sandwiches, tea, coffee and beer. There are plenty of picnic tables and toilets are available as well. There will also be short snack breaks at Abinger Hammer and Peaslake.
The walk ends in Shere village which has a nice tea room and an ice cream parlour; toilets are available nearby. From here we will take the bus back to Guildford (about 20 minutes away).
