Eastbourne Circular, 21 Jun

Train: Victoria 8.54, Clapham Junction 9.01, East Croydon 9.10, arr. Eastbourne 10.17. The weather promises to be sunny and this is a walk largely on the open downs, so please bring sun protection and water.

The walk is about ten miles. We start by going slightly inland, across a golf course and farmland to East Dean for lunch. After lunch we cut down to the cliffs to do three of the Seven Sisters. This involves some short, sharp ups and downs; please bring a pole if you use one. We then walk inland beside the Cuckmere River to catch the bus back from Exceat to Eastbourne.

The lunch stop at East Dean has a choice of pub, cafe, delicatessen, or a green for picnicking. This is also an easy drop-out spot, with regular buses back to Eastbourne.
