Searching for the River Fleet, 8 Feb

This walk will now start at Hampstead Northern Line Station and not Hampstead Heath.

Please assemble at 10 am outside the station. We then walk uphill to find the source, this section may well be muddy and a stick may be helpful. The remainder of this seven-mile walk is downhill.  We will have an early stop after two hours at the Camley Street Natural Park café near Kings Cross.  We  then walk steadily southwards towards the River Thames at Blackfriars Bridge. Having seen the Fleet emerge we can have a late lunch at the Blackfriars Pub.

Please note there are plenty of drop out points along the way but please tell the organiser if you are going to disappear. Also the main hazard will be road crossings so please try to keep other group members in sight. If you have a torch please bring it as it may help you see the river at certain places.
