Richmond to Hampton Court

Published by Morley Ramblers on

The walk on 5 November has been changed due to the train strike. It is now Richmond to Hampton Court. Daphne sends the following information:

The distance is approximately 7 miles and there are no stiles or steep hills! Drop off points are available at Twickenham, Teddington and Kingston.

We will start from Richmond Station at 10.30am I am hoping that both the District Line and the Overground will be operating.

We will then cross The Green and the bridge and head for Twickenham, where we will stop for coffee at the Orleans House Gallery & Cafe. As the ferry is not operating in the winter we will need to make a short bus journey to Teddington, where we will cross the river at Teddington Lock.

From there we will walk along the river to Kingston for lunch. There are plenty of pubs and restaurants by the river, so I will not be booking anywhere. There are also places to sit for a picnic near the river.

After lunch we will cross the bridge and head for Home Park and make our way across to Hampton Court.

The R68 bus goes directly back to Richmond or there are buses to Kingston, Staines etc.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. See you on Saturday. Many thanks Daphne
