Eynsford to Otford, 27 August

Tony Atkins will lead the walk as Johanna has an important family engagement. Contact 07484 297500

The walk is less than 9 miles and there is an option to return by train from the lunch stop at Shoreham. Members could have a short circular ramble of about 3 miles to Lullingstone with an opportunity to visit the Roman Villa, Castle Gardens and Visitor Centre, returning from Eynsford.

The one hill of note before Lullingstone can be avoided, obviously also missing the best views of the day.

Lunch options are limited in the pub, but there are also two cafes for those not bringing your own lunch.

Those completing all the walk, buy a return to Otford where there are many options for cafes and charity shops. Outward travel via Thameslink (destination Sevenoaks), with links from North London calling at Blackfriars at 9.16, then many South London stations, Bromley South 9.53, Eynsford 10.11.

Change at Bromley South from the 9.25 Victoria train. There is also a quarter hourly Overground link to Peckham Rye from Clapham Junction, avoiding travel into Victoria.

Meet Eynsford station 10.11.
