Gomshall to Shere, 20 August

Published by Morley Ramblers on

Daphne sends the following information about the Gomshall to Shere walk this Saturday:

This walk should be possible because the rail strike does not affect Southern trains. Departure will be from London Bridge (not Victoria) at 08.30 via East Croydon arriving at Redhill at 09.03 where there is an 8 minute wait for a train to Gomshall at 09.21. Please purchase a return rail ticket for Gomshall. The walk is quite varied and there are a few steep sections, however it has some fabulous views. Lunch is at Peaslake which has one pub plus a village shop which sells drinks and snacks. If you wish to eat in the pub – The Hurtwood Inn – please let me know by Friday, so that I can book a table for our group.

We will end the walk in the pretty village of Shere from where we will take the bus to Guildford. I will be aiming for the 16.35 direct train back to London, otherwise changes may be necessary.

Looking forward to seeing you for a cooler walk on Saturday.
