Train departure from Waterloo is as previously advertised, at 09.30 am but now stops at Clapham Junction and Surbiton. Revised arrival at Guildford is 10.24. Morning has a steepish start, up via the castle to Pewsey Down, then down to the river Wey and back to centre of Guildford. Expect mud. Time about 2 hours. No booking made for lunch – a wide choice of pubs, cafĂ© at station or bring picnic. Afternoon walk along the Wey, up to the cathedral via the University and then down and up to an old trackway with good views to N and S, weather permitting. Steady descent to station with detour to cemetery and Lewis Carroll´s grave. Time about 2 hours. No particular hazards but one or two busy roads to cross so please listen to the leader. Option of doing the morning only. My number on the day 07801 445653.
