This week’s walk (6 November) Hammersmith to Putney Bridge

Published by Morley Ramblers on

We will meet at 10.30am at Hammersmith Station (Piccadilly & District Lines) opposite the florist, which is next to the ticket machines. NB. This is not to be confused with the other Hammersmith Station just across the road.  The walk is 7 miles along both sides of the River Thames with an option to depart from Barnes Bridge Station (for trains to Waterloo) at midday (lunch time). Hammersmith Bridge has reopened for pedestrians and cyclists, so it  is also possible to head back to Hammersmith Station in the afternoon. The walk ends at Putney Bridge Station, where afternoon tea can be enjoyed in St. Mary’s Church cafe. Buses and the tube (District Line) are available from here, alternatively, it’s possible to walk back to Hammersmith along the other side of the river again via Fulham Palace Gardens, Bishop’s Park, and Craven Cottage (Fulham Football Ground).  This would extend the walk by another 2 miles.

Please let me know if you wish to eat in the pub – The Sun Inn – and I will try to book a table.   The route is fairly straightforward, though there may be muddy patches around the Leg o’ Mutton Lake. Daphne. (Non-members contact walks@morleyramblers.uk)
