This week’s walk (2 October) Seaford circular

Published by Morley Ramblers on

Patricia sends this message, with further details about next Saturday’s walk – a lovely circular walk from Seaford on the Sussex coast.Buy a return ticket to Seaford.

We start early on the 8.24 from Victoria, East Croydon 8.40 (probably platform3). A very quick change at Lewes, platform 3 for the 9.30 to Seaford. (Any train delay will mean we are waiting a short while on one of the most attractive stations!). At Seaford we will have a short ride on the coastal bus to Friston where plans include a visit, we hope, to the beautiful church.

Our morning walk is fairly long and very strenuous, via the Crowlink to the coast and taking in 4 of the 7 sisters. We will cross the Cuckmere river to a well-earned rest on the sun drenched terrace at the Cuckmere Inn! (The current forecast for the morning is light showers, but as always be prepared for our coastal weather being whatever we are given). Sandwich eaters – you may have to sit on the edge of The Cuckmere and dangle your feet

The bus can take you back to Seaford (Or Eastbourne direction if you choose, but you will need a different return ticket). The afternoon walk back to Seaford is a very enjoyable approximate 1.5 hours, the whole day being about 9 miles. The best views of the Seven Sisters are from the climb up to Seaford Head – but looking back

Please contact Patricia if you intend to join this walk (non-members contact walks@morleyramblers.uk).  Please indicate if you are planning to go to the pub to eat or drink, but be aware that such services can still not be guaranteed.
